Different festivals run though all year for music lovers. The most popular one is the St Lucia Jazz Festival which is held at Pigeon Island, and is one of the top- five Jazz Festivals in the world. British Virgin Island Music Festival- It is a three days organization which could be enjoyed by all the family as it offers a wide variety of music types from rhythm and blues to rock.

There are many reasons why every generation listens to classical music. There are health benefits associated with it to begin with.  It is a form of universal language and discourse which calms people and draws them together. We listen to it in our cars, at picnics, parties or other gatherings; hospitals and many places use classical music in their waiting rooms. According to research, it can reduce crime and benefit your mood. In fact, the British Transport police managed to cut down robberies by 33% in 2004 by piping classical music into some underground stations in London.  It is suggested that classical music makes troublemakers disperse and benefits the mind and the body by reducing stress and anxiety. The complexity of classical music can make it more difficult for shoppers to think which may affect their buying decision. Shoppers may spend more time in the shop than they realize and end up buying more things and spending more money than they intend to.

Top 3 Opera and Music Festivals in Italy

Italy is known for its great history and rich culture. Every year lots of music lovers around the world go to Italy to experience the amazing sounds of Classical European music and to discover Italy’s great culture. Operas and festivals are two of the most important elements of Italian culture.

1-      Arena di Verona, 2011 Opera Festival- Verona offers the biggest events in the Opera scene. This year Verona is celebrating the 89th Opera Festival and is expecting to attract thousands of people with 50 great performances and 85 talented artists.  The festival starts June 17th and will last till 3rd September.

2-      Festival Dei Due Mondi, Spoleto-(Festival of the Two Worlds) The festival runs from early June-July and has been offering  concerts, opera, dance drama and visual arts since it was founded by composer Gian Carlo Menotti in 1958. The festival creates a connection between America and Europe as it has a twin event being celebrated in The USA, Spoleto Festival, every May/June.

3-      Puccini Festival, Torre Del Lago- The festival is held between early July and late August welcoming over 40.00 spectators every year since it was born in 1930. This year, it will run between 15 July and 27 August with 4 spectacular performances, which are La Boheme, Tosca, Turandot, Madama Butterflu and Il Mameli.
